I understand that in regional areas confidentiality is absolutely crucial. As a client you need to know that your information is kept private, and that your access to the service is also private. As a Clinical Psychologist I am bound by the Australian Psychological Society's Ethical Guidelines on Confidentiality. Even if I am seeing someone you know I will not disclose your private business, or mention that you are a client of my service. There are some exceptions, such as if someone is at risk, but I will carefully outline these exceptions before we start working together.
